MARS QUALITY detects isolated URLs that do not have referring pages, and gives hints regarding the removal of unnecessary files that are continuing to increase.
By eliminating isolated URLs, problems related to website operation can be avoided.
Search engines such as Google continue to retain isolated URLs as search targets from the time when the referring pages existed. If the customer uses a search engine, it is possible that they will access isolated URLs. And if operations continue in this state, not only will website quality drop, but there will also be a wide range of impacts including problems at time of purchase and increased cost of support, etc.
Pages related to campaigns that have ended (content that was fresh at the time of new product release, etc.) were neglected, and complaints were made by purchasing customers who viewed these pages.
Inappropriate files (images etc.) were uploaded.
Pages using vulnerable JavaScript became isolated URLs and were neglected.
Customers felt suspicious of old information left over.
The crawler follows links, patrols pages and analyzes website structure (list of URLs/file links, etc.). In the first crawl, there are no targets to compare, so isolated URLs cannot yet be detected. From the second crawl on, occurrence of isolated URLs is detected by comparing new and old structural information.
Isolated URLs may also contain LPO countermeasures from search engines or files created with the purpose of linking from external sites.
Before deleting, please always check contents to determine whether the detected isolated URL is actually an unnecessary file.
